HUSSAN |SUMEDHA

My name is Hussan Zamir Sumedha, and I am a multidisciplinary creative director, photographer, designer, and cultural curator based in Cleveland. I am the founder and lead creative director of XFactor Couture and the founder of Sumedha Studios LLC, where I focus on fashion, photography, sustainability, and visual storytelling.

I founded XFactor Couture during my sophomore year at Bowling Green State University after noticing a lack of creative and fashion-centered spaces on campus. I wanted to create an environment where people could freely express themselves, connect through art and fashion, and build community through creativity. What started as a small vision quickly grew into a platform for runway shows, photography, collaboration, and cultural expression.

My interest in fashion began while working in retail during high school, where I became inspired by the power of presentation, styling, and identity. Shortly after beginning college, I taught myself how to sew and produced my first fashion show, La Putain. Since then, my work has evolved into larger conceptual productions exploring culture, religion, identity, sustainability, and contemporary fashion.

Alongside fashion direction, I have also worked professionally in photography and visual arts. I interned with the Cleveland Museum of Art and worked closely with artist Laura Owens during her exhibition at the Transformer Station. These experiences further shaped my understanding of visual storytelling and interdisciplinary art.

Through both XFactor Couture and Sumedha Studios, I continue to create projects centered around upcycling, artistic experimentation, Afrocentric influence, and community empowerment. My goal is to build spaces where emerging creatives feel represented, inspired, and free to express themselves authentically.
